This fantastic Cliff Railway, is just a couple of hundred yards from the Hotel. As one walks along North Walk, the railway bisects the road, affording a superb view of the railway operation.
2015 celebnrates the 125th year of its history.
Built by the Victorians, to help overcome the formidable hill, it is operated by water power. Still in excellent working order, today it carries a million visitors a year. No visit to Lynton is complete without a ride on this railway.
